I think DNScrypt only protects against dns spoofing, so it's a method of
knowing that your dns request really comes from the dns resolver you've chosen, rather
than being tampered with.
I'm not sure it protects against dns leaks, but I'm not very knowledgable on the subject, to
be honest I find the whole networking stuff thoroughly confusing :)

I think if you want to protect against dns leaks you're better off using a vpn service.
