Possibly. What kind of noise are you talking about? Continuous? Sudden spike?
I have a T400s with a SSD, the only noise I have is from the fan, which can be pretty noisy when cooling down the CPU is required. It’s been a while since I haven’t used a HDD but I don’t remember it to be noisy.
