Distributors will shoot us when we bundle too much, IMHO. An external dep for *optional* stuff is fine; what I was trying to avoid was the need to get yet another library for essential, core features like SMTP.
Hm, maybe it will be better to create separate plugin interface for passwords, separate for addressbook, ... so it will be possible to mix plugin for Qt Keychain and KDE plugin (for addressbook).
