It is up to us (that is, Pali, you, Thomas, Caspar and me) to decide what is "in scope" and what is not. My preference for this GSoC is that it shall improve Trojita even in the ways which are, strictly speaking, not neccessarily useful for the Kontact integration, and the --mailto handling is one example. We're talking about max. two days of work here -- it's not about having full support for embedding the X11 widgets of a running process into another one, but about simply invoking a slot over DBUS.
