Hello Function

Thanks for the inspiration. I have no distinct response, just see several
possibilities and consider all of them valuable:
1. Grab TROM and run to the place of your comfort, there disseminate, e.g.
by talking to friends about it or even by public lectures. Like some of the
old FSMs did. You talk to 100 persons and hope for one to get interested.
2. Associate, build a group and do something of public impact and get the
name known.
3. Do your own sessions and nothing else.
4. Do your own sessions and allow penetrating culture over many, many
generations.
5. [Fill in blank]

What little I did so far is to suggest to someone reading "Siddharta" by
Hermann Hesse. It's beautiful, it's translated into all languages and its
topic is nirvana! So I hope this to be an entrance point. If nirvana is not
considered valuable, what's the point of doing TROM. Of course you can't see
the value of nirvana before doing TROM, that's the weakness. TROM is no good
as a quick solution, that makes understanding, dissiminating and proofing it
difficult. People want quick solutions.

Our strength is, that there is no money involved. So we do not need a
central organization at all! I stumbled over a russian TROM forum that I
didn't know about. And don't need to know, hope there are many more.
Sticking to the original Games Manual is the only foundation we need.
Altering it is the only pitfall.

best wishes
Roberto

Betreff: [TROM1] You're awakened? Prove it.

:-) My apologies for the confrontational title. I needed to catch your
attention. I noticed some talk on the list about distributing TROM to a
wider audience. If TROM is as effective as it claims to be-- and I think
that it is-- then there's no reason that such an operation shouldn't be
something special. Shouldn't be entrancing and beautiful and uplifting.
Shouldn't-- work.

So, unless you all have something better to do than enlightening humanity
and infecting culture with a movement of infinite love, I'd like to initiate
a dialogue on the game to end all games.

My first recommendation is that we drop any atavisms of scientological
culture. It's unnecessary and a turn-off. The cultural distaste towards it
is justified. Nobody knows about the early research phases. They don't even
need to, unless they care to find out. My second recommendation is to go
straight for the throat, so to speak. By that, I mean to state upfront and
in as overwhelming (yes, overwhelming) manner as possible what
differentiates TROM, whilst maintaining a feeling of love and strength and
beauty. My third recommendation is to generate entrancing mythos. Hubbard
was a master of this. You need  a story to transmit this kind of
information. You need, essentially, a viral memetic shell designed to
distribute the core-- the kernel, TROM, what we're actually concerned with--
as far and wide as possible. A hypnosis that breaks hypnosis, a trance that
awakens people from trance, a game that games people out of the game.

Now, we'd be trying to help people. And people are pretty incredibly worn
down by all the false dawns, all the bad news, by the wear and tear of life.
So I think that a shell of pure love, of a Promethean and empowering kind,
would actually be the most effective in our current cultural climate. Many
people will be mistrusting at first, which is why you combine that type of
aura/mythos/atmosphere with brutal honesty. Going for the throat. The two in
combination, combined with a genuine insight into people's problems and all
of the disappointments they've suffered in their attempts to resolve them...
could be potent. You have to challenge and confront and provoke and intense
reaction, to get people's minds and hearts entangled and invested. And then
the magic of the tech and the truth and the love of what's being transmitted
can do its work. Getting people in, by whatever means, is the main part. The
love stops this strategy from hurting the players we pull into the game.

Most people peddling 'love' and freedom, most mystics, most everything, are
liars, incompetents, sell-outs, or manipulators. Actually living in truth
and not shifting form it, expressing that truth as forcefully and directly
as possible, WILL stand out amidst this hellish smog of confusion. And, even
if we do fail and get hung/mobbbed/fail to have an immediate impact, surely
a movement of ecstasy, love, and joyful games fueled by the power of people
empowered by TROM would be a lark in its own right? No? The Summer of Love,
but better? No? Could be fun? No? Prefer same-old corporatism daily news and
pop culture? No time to wake up and forge a movement towards beautiful
ascendancy? No time to start a process with no limits, and craft beautiful
cultural forms? To create?

Sorry, I get carried away with myself.  :-)  (...but how can you not when
you start to get this goddamn beautiful world?)

I wrote a draft-- merely a suggestion-- for a kind of mythos-spawning
document or manifesto. I've written it as though it were from a kind of
esoteric organisation. I'd be interested to hear your suggestions. It's just
a starting point. Please do better. Also, if you think this whole idea is
flawed that's also fine. I had fun just writing it. It's all fun and games
:-)

With all my love, and truly yours

Welcome to Your End
Most people throughout history have been sadly confused. We want people to
be joyfully aware.
People have lionised strength, felt superior to weakness, demonised
strength, and felt righteous in their weakness for at least four millennia.
People have lusted after enlightenment and riches, been envious and
inferior, shrunk from the world in fear, and hidden in robotically
repetitive patterns of behaviour and thought. People have chosen ways of
life and schools of thought, or schools of ignorance, in an attempt to
shield themselves from the overwhelming immensity of the world. People have
erected identities and customs and constraining families as barricades
against life. And people have reveled in the exertion of strength, in
knowing how to play life’s games, in breaking through the restraints imposed
by the weak.
We don’t like this situation. We don’t want people to suffer. And we don’t
want to piously suffer over their impotence. We don’t want the strong to be
constrained. We love this life and what it has to offer. We love the mystery
and wonder that it becomes when the keys to its prisons’ gates have been
found. We love ourselves. We love others. We love the world, the joy, the
sex, the love, the games, the loss. All of it. Even the parts we’re
pretending to dislike in writing to tell you of this—key.
Perhaps the world has serious problems. Perhaps it matters that we are
causing a mass de-speciation, wrecking ecosystems everywhere, living in a
parasitic financial age that preys upon weakness, failing to use our
technology for greater and more noble ends, ‘educating’ our children with
useless state brainwashing, and living like barely evolved morons who treat
vacuous ideas as more important than our fellow living, dynamic, beautiful
human beings. Perhaps. But whatever our answer is to those problems, seeing
clearly comes first. Most people are locked into a prison of delusion, of
pretending to be far stupider and smaller than they really are. Most people
wreck the world with their absence, their gaping chasm of an empty heart,
their inability to know the joy that is always here, unbounded, infinite.
So—the key.
The key isn’t to be strong. The key isn’t to be brave. The key isn’t to be
moral. The key isn’t anything you don’t have or can’t have. It isn’t your
special ability or your higher worth. It isn’t that you’re going to see the
truth in this whilst somebody else isn’t. If you want that poison, there are
thousands who’ll be willing to accept your belittled mind, your foregone
freedom and your compromised humanity as a price for its administration. The
key is only a key. It isn’t a blessing from above. It’s a blessing from
within. You are already all the things you want to be. You just need
to—remember.
Remember what? Remember how? Not in any conceptual or ambiguous or difficult
way. Not as a trick you play on yourself. Not some deluded belief. Not by
means of anything you need to buy. As some steps that you can easily take.
And then you’ll be stronger. And then you’ll be smarter. And then you can
take some more steps. And you’ll be stronger, and smarter. And you’ll
remember—if you don’t already—what it means to live with lust for the world,
with joy in life, with strength and ecstasy enough to join us in playing to
the hilt. In living like the ecstasy and divinity that you really are. We
don’t want petty white lighters and insincere hippy halfwits to come from
this. We want strength and beauty for all, we want players worth playing. We
love—what’s behind the locked door.
What’s behind the locked door? You are. You before all of the compromises.
You before the pain. You before you learned that you were small. You before
other tragically small, tragically broken people taught you what a human
was. You before you were educated in, before you worked in, before you
geared yourself towards manipulating and surviving in a culture formed by
zero-sum power games. A culture scared of and in opposition to your power,
and insistent upon its own. A culture where you are a biological robot,
where the basic possibilities and nature of your existence are set out
before you, and where your input on the matter is not welcome. Is that the
catch? Is this revolutionary? Do you need to shrink back in fear and return
to your broken life, lest you face social ostracism? No. You can still play
the society game if you want to. There are no obligations here. Only simple
steps. Simple steps that you can perform in private. That nobody need know
about, except via the energy and power that you begin to bring into your
life.
The key is The Resolution of Mind. The key was written by Dennis Stephens in
the latter half of the twentieth century. The key fits the lock, breaks the
mind, and unleashes the infinite vision and capacity which it so often
obscures. The key has no cult surrounding it, no social structure to
sanction it, nobody who will profit from it. In its entirety, it is
contained within a 200 page document, but the actual key can be stated in 2
or 3 pages of steps. The steps will take some time to perform, but the gains
will begin very soon. This is not another false dawn. Do this, and you will
wake up.
The key is not a culture. The key is not an obligation upon you, and it is
not an obligation upon us. We’re writing this here as though we had some
mission, but we really don’t. Perhaps we’ll play the game of lighting this
world up with as bright a love as we can, and perhaps we won’t. Perhaps you
will, or perhaps you won’t. Perhaps you’ll wake up and choose to dominate,
subjugate, and brutalised those who still sleep. Perhaps you won’t. Perhaps
we will. Whatever. This, here, is power. This, here, is love. This is a
gift. And it’s in your hands.

[Notes on part 2...]
This life is not a rigged game. Humanity hasn't found its way out of the
labyrinth so far. And many have made a religion out of being lost, and
mystically glorified it. But the answer is in there somewhere.
Theosophy is incompetent. Christianity is incompetent. Islam is incompetent.
Mysticism is incompetent. Buddhism is incompetent. Marxism is incompetent.
All popular radicalisms are incompetent. All popular religions are
incompetent. States are incompetent. Schools are incompetent. Society is
incompetent.
That’s not to say that they’re bad. But in so far as their aim is to better
individuals’ lives, provide them with power, and remind them of their true
nature, they simply fail. We don’t want to eradicate them. But they fail. We
don’t dislike them. But, nonetheless, they do fail.
Additionally, any group selling freedom or power with conditions upon your
behaviour as the price is something to be wary of. Mostly, these become
corrupted by power games. And incompetence. Mostly they do not have the
right technology, clarified, understood and successfully implemented. Mostly
they reward strength and punish weakness—whatever the language they use to
play this game—just like any other social context. Mostly, they
moralistically applaud strength and denigrate failure. That is not
liberation.
This is.
This is a method that makes you powerful. That makes you successful. That
unlocks your own vision. This isn’t a test. This gives you the strength to
pass other tests, or not to need to.
This is love.
You don’t need to find the right social connections, the right teacher, the
right amount of money. You just do it. And then you can pursue what you
truly do need and want. Beware, you may have to forfeit your chains.
