TROM is perfect. Except that it's not.
Let me explain for you. TROM reveals what is beyond the limits of our
corporeal form, but it places the boundary of those limits in the wrong
place. TROM may allow us to experience without our body, but it doesn't
change that we came to that experience through the body and still move
with it. Similarly, TROM allows us to experience in transcendence of our
psychic apparatus, but we still come to it through particular psychic
apparatus and that those apparatus remain.
Dennis alluded to the 'habits of the human ape', but he didn't quite
understand this central part of them. That's fine-- Freud didn't, Jung
didn't, Hubbard didn't, experimental psychology doesn't. Those things
were confusions. But these habits are understood. And they change
everything once you know them. And I'm about to explain them to you.
Dennis' error was that he mistook the tendencies of his own particular
cognitive apparatus, and his psychological strategies for dealing with
them, for the essential theory of TROM. This is a common phenomena,
although almost universally hidden by ignorance. Most seekers of the
divine mysteries through the ages have shared Dennis' particular
cognitive set-up (which I'll describe soon), and there are particular
and identifiable patterns of how they approach the mysteries in terms of
it. These patterns are inessential to the mysteries themselves, and
actually, often, make them be used as an unintentional limit upon the
beings' potential where such knowledge actually has no limit implicit in
it.
Additionally, most paths to the mysteries-- possibly TROM, although,
having the same psychic set-up as Stephens and not having tested it on
others, I wouldn't know-- are designed to trick those specific apparatus
into enlightenment. They are designed to implode it, to work with the
tensions in it, and to escape its particular labyrinth. Most humans
don't have the intense motivation and disaffection which this particular
set-up motivates, and so don't even have a chance of approaching the
mysteries in the first place.
Harsh truth: the enlightenment of TROM simply isn't something most *can*
pursue by means of individual motivation. And this isn't moral. This
isn't about people being better or worse. It's just that there our
'mind' (in the cognitive, not the TROM, sense) works in a way nobody
really understood until now. And all of the preachy moralism which most
who have found the mysteries use is actually just about whether you
started out with this apparatus in the first place or not. Many with
this apparatus don't reach enlightenment, but most who do reach
enlightenment have it.
There are different ways which those with other configurations can
excel, and they can clear themselves as well. This isn't a bad thing for
them. TROM's enlightenment is not really what they desired anyway, at
this stage in their life cycle. It's just a matter of fact. In the same
way that our four limbs and two eyes are. Somebody without legs can't
walk. An eagle can't read the Buddah's writings. Somebody without these
apparatus is basically unlikely to fit with TROM's enlightenment.
