Hi everyone,
I am trying to get started with TPM on my Laptop. Unfortunately there seem
to be some problems and I cannot figure out what they are related to.
My hardware is an Acer TravelMate 6293 with an Infineon TPM and with BIOS
v1.38. On top of it I use Ubuntu Linux 10.4 (kernel 2.6.23-23).
Here are the facts:
- When I activated and enabled my TPM in BIOS, it still tells me it is
de-activated the next time I enter BIOS.
- After boot-up the following modules get loaded: tpm_bios, tpm and
tpm_tis.
- tpm_tis leaves the following message in my message log (dmesg): "tpm_tis
00:0d: 1.2 TPM (device-id 0xB, rev-id 16)".
- Meanwhile, in /dev/ I have a device called "tpm0".
- When I try to start "tcsd -f" the following is printed out (I compiled
trousers with debug output activated):

- It is clear that tpm_version won't work either, since it depends on tcsd.
- (I have exactly the same output when I unload and re-load the tpm_tis
modules with the force=1 and interrupts=0 flags)
So, if anyone knows what could be the issue I would be very graceful if that
