The SW TPM "ships" just as a HW TPM ships, with NV unlocked. Did you set the env variable # export TCSD_TCP_DEVICE_PORT=6543 or the equivalent for your shell. I suspect that you set the env variable for some shell, then sudo lost it. Try su and then setting the env variable. Are you running tcsd on the same platform as the SW TPM?
