I do not have aumix but I tried amixer which did what you claimed (I could adjust the levels for in- and output) but did not solve the problem because I could only adjust the things leaving the RealPlayer and there were none (at least if I did not touch that slider). But I figured out what went wrong with the "Volume=..." entry. RealPlayer does update this one but only if you quit by pressing Ctrl+X and not if you just close the window. But when I start it again, it resets the slider to 0 and if I close again, it writes (of course) "Volume=0" to the file. Michael Behrisch
