DAVEH:  It was YOU who is suggesting that I "worship a different Jesus".  I have explained some of the characteristics of the Lord I worship.  If you disagree and do not wish to worship "that" Jesus, then perhaps you/I are worshipping a "different Jesus".
Glenn -  WE HAVE TO believe in Jesus this way?
DAVEH:  Only if you wish to believe what the Bible says about Jesus' resurrection.

Glenn again - Why would I have to believe what the Bible says about Jesus when you don't believe what the Jesus of the Bible says about hell?

DAVEH:  You don't have to believe "", Glenn.  That is why I am asking these questions.....to find out what you do believe.  I believe the description many Christian people view as the "hell of fire & brimstone" is symbolic.  If that is the way you feel about the resurrection (that it was a symbolic description), that is what I'm trying to find out....what you believe.

DaveH - If you don't believe Jesus has a resurrected body of flesh and bones, it

seems to me that you would be interpreting the Bible to suit your own preconceived notions.
Glenn again - It seems to me you are interpreting the Bible to suit your own preconceived notions about hell.

DAVEH:  Hmmmmm........and you don't???  Of course I've got "preconceived notions", and so do you! I'm just trying to find out what your "preconceived notions" are, Glenn!!!  Listen Glenn, I've only had one other TTer agree with me on this "flesh & bones" issue.  Laura and apparently you seem to believe Jesus does not currently have a body of F&B.......Is that correct?  I'm just trying to find out how many Protestants interpret the Bible on this issue.

DaveH - Why would you not think that Jesus has a body of flesh and bone today,

Glenn?  Isn't that commonly taught/believed in Protestantism???  To me, that seems a pretty fundamental element of the nature of God.  I really would appreciate your (and Laura's) thoughts on this.
Glenn -  If I see Jesus today as a Spirit, with no need for flesh and bones, until He returns to the earth in the second coming, then I worship a different Jesus?
Glenn - I believe in a literal resurrection of Jesus Christ with a physical body.  However, I don't think Jesus is limited to that physical body all the time.

DAVEH: Hmmmmmm........Why is that?  It almost sounds like you don't think the resurrected body of F&B is all that important.
