Glenn - NO, because the Bible is silent on the subject. Therefore God doesn't care if we do or do not baptize infants.
Since
the Bible is silent it means God didn't care enough about a ceremony
to even mention it. So Mormons cannot require something that is not
mentioned in the Bible.
If the Bible is silent on a subject then one cannot preach the silence
as
Bible. This is simple. The argument from silence leads
to every kind of
nonsense imaginable.

.........But then below you suggest that "If the Bible is silent on a subject then God doesn't care if we do or we do not." I've got to tell you Glenn, I am having trouble understanding your logic on this. IMHO, if Satan influences Bible believers to wrongly baptize infants, then I think God really does "care if we do or we do not" about it. You are correct in your assessment.......
"The argument from silence leads to every kind of nonsense imaginable."
.......which is exactly the point I'm trying to make. IMO, those people who come up with that "nonsense" due to their perception of what the Bible does or doesn't say, are being influenced by Satan. But it is your cavalier attitude toward this matter that seems a bit odd to me Glenn. I don't see how you logically connect the dots on this.
--[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:Glenn - Here's the problem DaveL. Jesus NEVER said NOT to baptize children. If the Bible is silent on a subject then God doesn't care if we do or we do not.
DAVEH: Is there anything in the Bible that would support your supposition about "If the Bible is silent on a subject then God doesn't care if we do or we do not.", Glenn? I find it difficult to believe the Lord would be happy with you dreaming up doctrine on your own simply because the Bible is silent on a topic. Does Protestant theology condone that belief??? And.....DavidM......do you also believe that way?
