History gives the facts that Joe Smith had many many many more that thought of him as a villain when he was alive just as today.
DAVEH:  I'm not sure why you think such, Glenn.  Do you have any specific statistics to support your opinion?  You may or may not be right.....that isn't what I'm debating.  I'm more concerned that you are suggesting Blaine lied, yet your response indicated that you were thinking currently when Blaine was speaking in times past.  To me, it seems like you too were speaking about two different things.   To say "This is a lie", didn't quite seem rational or appropriate.
DAVEH:  In reading Blaine's original post, Glenn, I think you are twisting this a bit.  Blaine was referring to those who held opinions when JS was alive, while you are thinking in current times. ************

horns on them if you want to bad enough.  It is called "villification."
Joseph Smith was a villain to many, a saint and a prophet to many more.
Quite a few men  who finally met him after hearing bad reports on him had
to admit they liked him.   I am pretty sure I would have liked him, if I
had the chance to get to know him.  I think he was a man's man, a
gentleman's gentleman, and a true and faithful servant of God.   He was
not infallible.

Glenn to Blainer - This is a lie.  MANY MANY MORE BELIEVE JOE SMITH TO BE A VILLAIN THAN BELIEVE HIM TO BE A SAINT.  Christianity rejects him.
