I erroneously posted this under an old "Subject:" heading, and thought that might cause some to skip over it, so have re-posted it under a new subject heading.

Ever wondered why most LDS have such a negative attitude towards protestantism?

First, JS claims that god told him that ALL Christian denominations are an abomination to him. To say that someone's Christian beliefs are an "abomination" to god is a very serious accusation, and one that the LDS have downplayed in recent years in their bid for acceptance as Christians.

Second, I recall reading that one of the LDS temple indoctrinations uses actors playing the roles of Satan and a Baptist minister, and the play depicts the Baptist minister making a deal with Satan! Seeing this drama in the context of the holy LDS temple places the LDS between the horns (so to speak) of a tough ethical and spiritual dilemma...either he/she believes that protestant ministers make deals with Satan, or he/she is not a true, good, believing LDS. After all, to reject one point of the LDS temple ceremony would be to cast doubt on all of it.

DaveH and Blaine, have either one of you ever played one or both of these roles in an LDS temple drama?

Do either of you believe that the scene reflects the truth, or is it truly just LDS propaganda?

Perry
