Peter said that he never ate the creatures in the vision, and there is no record that he did.  When the vision ended, he did not sit down and pig out on mice and swine.  The scripture clearly shows that it was a vision to Peter to help him receive Cornelius.

The problem came with the influence of Judaism which has its own vocabulary aside from the scripture.  Judaism designated people as "unclean" or "common."   The Lord did not want Peter to practice Judaism, and call somebody "unclean" that God had made clean.  Peter got the message when Cornelius came to the door.

God's people are not to eat unclean food.  God's people are not to partake of unclean spirits.  "Christians" want to do both through what they ingest physically and through what they celebrate that is Pagan in origin.  God's people are supposed to be able to discern the clean from the unclean, and to have discernment of spirits.  Clean and unclean meats pre-date Noah and the sweet "Law of Moses" which came from God.

Gentiles may eat unclean food.  Israelites were permitted to sell swine to the Gentiles, who could do whatever they wished with them.  I could go into the reasons why, and how God has a worm causing trichinosis that infects pigs; and then "Christians" will say that we have refrigerators now and, besides, we feed our pigs good feed.  That is not the issue, really.

The real issue is this: "If you love me, keep the commandments."  I love God.  I fear God.  I honor His Word.

If somebody wants to eat a mouse, let it not be me.  Yuk.

Hi Marlin,

So whats the point? Are you saying we still should not be eating pork (and mice?). I know that is a big controversy. Most Believers think that Peters vision about all foods being declared clean means that we can eat anything now. Do you disagree? Id appreciate your input.

The Bible does not suggest.  It states plainly that we can eat anything .  What goes into man is not important.  What comes out of man is.  What ia suggested, is moderation.

Blessings,

Subject: [TruthTalk] Godly diet?

I just watched Dr. Atkins interviewed on Larry King Live about his diet
plan. At this time of the year it seems that everyone has a resolution to
lose weight, and TV commercials and programs seem to talk about nothing
else. One screwy diet after another, all contradicting themselves!

I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what kind of diet, if any, the Bible
suggests that we should follow. Since you folks provided ZERO input on your
"new year's resolutions"; can anyone offer suggestions on this topic?
