Subject: RE: [TruthTalk] The relationship between Torah observance and eternal life.

I have no idea if the new covenant invalidates the sabbath.

I do know that Jesus said " The sabbath was made for man,

man was not made for the sabbath.  To me, that means the

sabbath was a gift, not a chain around my neck.

I find that observing the Sabbath is a blessing; not a curse. God did not give us curses when He gave us His commandments.

I am not, and never have been under the law.  The law is of value

to me, however, because it shows me part A of God's plan,

and thus allows me to appreciate part B better.  It also shows

me why everyone needs a savior, since no one can keep the

law, and it gives me a good look at God's moral standards.

Jesus did not come to invalidate the Law. He came to fulfill it. We should do the same, in His power.  God did not give us the law

So we could take a peek at His moral standards. He gave it to us so we could Know right from wrong. He came in the flesh so we

Could Do right by the power if the Holy Spirit, and be forgiven when we fail. However failing is not our standard. Obeying is.

Since Marlin said that sin is breaking the law, and said he keeps

the law, he must not consider himself a sinner.

No, scripture says sin is violating the law. Marlin is just agreeing with scripture.

You can choose to either live in obedience or live in sin. Which do you choose?

I sin every day in spite of my best efforts not to.

This is not necessary. Jesus came to set us free from sin.

 How often

do you sin, and why? Inquiring minds want to know.

I have actually been known to go at least an entire day without sinning. You can too. (I don’t believe otherwise!) By

His power we can actually live lives where sinning is the exception, and obedience is the norm.
