I don't want medical doctors determining the fate of my children. Sometimes
they are wrong. I saw a woman on television not too long ago who was told
by the doctors that her child did not have a brain. They urged her to have
a late term abortion. She refused. Today the child is a lovely living
daughter about 12 years old. She has some problems, but she lived and the
doctors were wrong.

Imagine your wife going to the doctor, whom you have given authority in this
matter, and the doctor has his own financial reasons perhaps in recommending
an abortion. Now the choice is your wife's and her doctor's, but what about
you? Something is wrong with this picture. The husband has forfeited his
authority. This is not Godly.

The point about the abortion issue is that we must live responsibly. If we
have sexual intercourse, it produces children. We have a responsibility
toward this action. The child was not thrust upon us unexpectedly unless we
are idiots. And even if we were idiots, that does not justify us in
terminating a life when we come to our senses concerning what we have done.
Surely God has a purpose in the children he blesses us with. Children are a
blessing, not a curse.

I agree, and this is an indication that should they choose to abort their
child, they are acting against their conscience. I have heard so many women
complain how they were just doing what the doctor told them they should do.

Something is really wrong if the statistic is true that one out of every
three pregnancies end with an abortion. May believers in Christ not
contribute to that statistic.

Peace be with you.
