Dear Izzy,   No, I did not know that Rush has had a recovery.  I am glad for his recovery.  I'll have to listen to him again sometime.  He is very entertaining.  I wish he were truly a truth detector, but he loves the size of his audience and does not want an audience the size of a thimble, as he has stated in the past.   Rush came to mind, because I see a certain kind of confidence, or self assuredness in his approach to issues.  I see a similarity in Chris.  Pride?, possibly.  Was David prideful when he took up his sling against the uncircumcised Philistine, Goliath, who taunted God's chosen people?  If nothing else David was filled with righteous indignation.    I believe Chris is capable of that sin, as we all are, and may even slip into it and need to repent.  But pride has to do with whom we give the credit to.  Like Rush, who says he has "talent on loan from God," I think that Chris gives God the credit for his acumen.  If not, he is headed for the fall you speak of.   I think there has in fact been some reference to seeing a lie behind every Bush, but I don't recall that Chris was referring to plants.    Some like to use the label "conspiracy theory," as though this is the name of a mental health disease for those who are willing to do the research and prove all things.  I for one am not content with illusions.  Truth has the tendency of dislodging us from our comfort zones.  Still, truth is sweeter than the wine of sleep.   Blessed [is] that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.  PSA 40:4   [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.  PSA 118:8   Put not your trust in princes, [nor] in the son of man, in whom [there is] no help. PSA 146:3   PSA 121:2   My help [cometh] from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.   Izzy, you said Chris "spews such venomous hatred."  I have seen witty responses, pointed responses, both lengthy and short responses.  I detect sincere hatred for the lies that have been used to harm the children of God, and the actions of those who perpetrate these things.   But not a hatred for the children of God.   There is one fault he has that really is irksome!  He has reviled the gods in whom many put their worldly trust.  He has stepped upon sacred cows.  This is really upsetting!    Love,  Marlin ----- Original Message ----- From: ShieldsFamily To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, January 28, 2003 7:33 PM Subject: RE: [TruthTalk]servant of The Most High I might assume that God has blessed Chris with a good measure of eye salve because of his love of the truth, and ability to see through so many lies.  Each of us should be a "servant of The Most High."    I get a little concerned when I see the definite article used, THE "servant of The Most High."  I have seen others making such claims come to nothing.     Marlin,   I�m sure you will be happy to know that Rush had a surgery and had his hearing restored.  I�m sure you were sorry to hear about his trial and prayed for him like many of us did.    Regarding Chris; he is a legend in his own mind.   Pride goes before a fall.  If he has puffed himself up, God will un-puff him.  May God have mercy on Chris; I really think he means well, but he spews such venomous hatred it makes me fear for him.   Regarding seeing a lie behind every bush, and a conspiracy theory on every hand, �To the pure all things are pure..�, and �Love hopes all things, believes all things, endures all things��  Philippians 4 8   Finally, brethren, (1) whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.   Izzy
