ftr, what's the difference, below, betw 'works
of the Law' (which 'do not justify') and personal 'works', e.g., in Abe's
case, 'his works'? these
are obviously different categories of 'works' partic in view of the fact
that Abe could not have been doing 'works of the Law' while 'the Law' did
not exist--Moses was born hundreds of years later
also, ftr, Paul (who teaches the premise,
above) did not say, below, that he operates according to what is written
in 'the Law'--he reserves the word written for the Prophets; he
means that he operates according to Moses' underlying teaching of
resurrection; proof:
Moses is included in 'these
men' (below) along with 'the Prophets'
read carefully(!); in sum (total), below,
Paul views the Law and the Prophets (each) in separate categories of
thought/interpretation--he neither interprets them identically, nor adheres to
them identically; however, he realizes that the L&P (together) teach the
resurrection of both 'the righteous and the wicked'--that's it(!):

“…A man is not justified by the works of the Law but through
faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may
be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the
works of the Law no flesh will be justified.” (Galatians

I once heard this statement called
“CHRISTIANITY 101.” I
would like to introduce you to "Christianity 102:"
Was not Avraham our father justified by works when he offered up
Yitzchak his son on the altar? You see that faith was working with his
works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; and the
Scripture was fulfilled which says, "AND AVRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS
RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS," and he was called the friend of God. You
see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. (Yaakov/James
2:21-24 [NASB'95])
This
is just one reason why many believe in keeping the Torah. Keeping Torah
out of obedience and love for YHVH is not heresy. It's not Judaizing. This is
not Work-based righteousness. It is submission to the Father’s will as
outlined in both covenant Scriptures.
"But this I admit to you, that according to The Way which they
call a sect [KJV: Heresy] I do serve the God of our fathers, believing
everything that is in accordance with the Law and that is written in the
Prophets; having a hope in God, which these men cherish themselves, that there
shall certainly be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. In
view of this, I also do my best to maintain always a blameless conscience
{both} before God and before men." (Acts
24:14-16)
