It seems to me that saying "do not let sin reign in your mortal bodies" is the same as "do not sin." What is the difference? If you don't let sin reign in your body, then you are not sinning, right? But once you confess your sins, you will be forgiven and cleansed of all unrighteousness. Once you become a servant of righteousness, you might not confess your sins again because they are forgiven and in the past. Then your confession will be more along the lines of Paul: 2Co 7:2 Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.
