As You point out, Jesus has spoken. That settles it. There is nothing more to argue about.
If Jesus cannot convince them, they are probably hopelessly reprobate, but just in case, let's add Peter's vision in the tenth chapter of Acts, and what the Father says in Genesis 9:3 ( every moving thing that lives shall be food for you). Paul validates this in first Cor. 10: 25-28 ( Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, for the earth is the Lord's, and all it's fullness.)
Unless you are trying to be saved by the law instead of the Lord, have a plate of baby back ribs and a dozen oysters and don't worry about it. God looks at the heart, not the gizzard .

Michael D: I am now having a chance to read through some of the old e-mail that I missed. Just in case Slade is still around, I would like to address this directly. I did so indirectly in the past, but am very interested in a direct response from Slade on this (or anyone else for that matter. Maybe Izzy??). Jesus spoke this Himself:
Mark 7:14. ...Hearken unto me every one of you and understand: 15. There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. 16. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
I find this to be a very strong statement indeed concerning things appropriate to eat and inappropriate to eat. The discussion was concerning eating with unwashed hands, but Jesus made a stunning comprehensive statement. Any comments?
