Judy, Why to examine the role of 'contingency' in your view/s :

You say in another post "..and they blew it.",  meaning, obviously,  that A&E 'blew' ensuing history, as we know it; that A&Es *so-called* 'free choice' of evil   *(I'm leaving plenty of room for DavidM to rock 'n roll:)*   still results in a series of ultra-complicated, on-going historical 'contingencies'; in sum, *so-called* 'free choice' per se  got totally 'blown' away..in the Garden..

Well, if you truly disagree, please explain why(?); also, how 'freedom of choice' (rather than 'contingency') yields the current cultural morass of the modern West that (e.g.) the militant 'FG t-shirt' so quickly riles, agitates to a frenzy.

Who in America is 'freely choosing' this society as it is, so lost apart from the grace of God?

If it's you--you've got no further complaint, I suspect

Has the grace  of God eliminated all your 'contingency/s'? Pls explain how a 'yes' to this is not dishonest, of the Devil himself  g(entleman)

ftr, it might be wise to examine a distinction betw 'freedom of choice' and 'contingency'

Brooks is the one who contrasts the culture of fidelity with the culture of contingency and he goes on to define them; what do I need to examine further?
