DAVEH:  That is not what I'm getting at, Dean.  I'm trying to find out what purpose Protestants think the tree of knowledge of good and evil served if He (God) knew they would partake of its fruit? Dean writes:  We have told you many times that God gave us a free will
DAVEH:  How can "free will" be effective if the person who has "free will" has not the knowledge of the difference between good and evil?
12/15 Dean writes: When God told them not to eat of the tree because it was "Bad" for them- wasn't he giving them that knowledge, Dave? So simple a Mormon cannot understand-why because they cannot see the trees for the forest.
in his likeness-the freedom to chose good or evil -and once chosen one must live with that choice-but thankfully He also made a way for us to return to Him-thru Jesus Christ-again a simple answer that escapes Mormon theology.
DAVEH:  IMHO, your simple answer overlooks some basic common sense, Dean.
If God knew that a person would burn himself with fire-why did he create fire in the first place? But I realize that you are not looking for an answer only a way to confuse others.
DAVEH:  Ahhhhhh Dean........I think you were that way before I came to TT!    <VBG>

12/15 Dean writes: And you -of course- are showing me a way out of all the confusion.Tell me, DaveH-where does Mormon theology teach us that heaven is-that way you can kinda un confuse me-to clear up matters (VBG-with teeth showing)?
