I wasn't referring to the ministry of 'laying on of hands' Ruben, that's another issue

entirely.

The OT Prophets did this and John was the last and greatest of them. However, the Church is under a New Covenant and has been given the ministry of reconciliation.  You don't see Paul rebuking ppl in Athens do you?  I find a wide gulf between this "rebuking ministry" and Paul who wrote "For though I be free from all men yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more... and To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak; I am made all things to all men that I might by all means save some, and this I do for the gospel's sake that I might be partaker thereof with you." (1 Cor 9:19,22).

Judy I think you have set the cart before the horse.  Preaching the Word of God is not a ministryit is our duty as Christians to confess Christ, to shine our light and if God dwells in our hearts, should it not be confirmed with our mouth?  Preaching God/Jesus/Bible one on one or one on ten thousand, should it not come out of our lips?  Repentance is this issue in both Old and New Testaments.  God is consistent, he does not want mankind (and womankind) just the way they are, repentance has always been the issue, a change of heart, mind and or lifestyle.

jt: They count when ministered to the right ones... like with Titus, this also is an instruction given to Timothy who is pastoring a group of believers at Ephesus.  Reproving, rebuking and exhorting with all longsuffering and doctrine is for the CHURCH.

If you Gospel does not use the word Repent,  you might need to rethink your stance.  That was John the Baptist message, that was the first message with Jesus and it was continued in the Book of Acts.  Before someone can receive grace they need to know they broke the law and before someone accepts the physician, they must be shown the results of the blood test and X-ray.

jt: The religious spirit driving Mormons is demonic but you are right, it doesn't have to leave if they want it there. Jesus doesn't free ppl from their friends.

I hope you dont blame everything on demons, because people are Mormons for a scores of reasons.  Family, married into, converted, felt that warm feeling after praying about the book of Mormon, missing something or just because that church happened to be there during their time of need.  And I will and have said this, that the Mormon Church is a nice Church to live by, with morals, strong family values, etc..but.A BAD CHURCH TO DIE WITH.

jt: Who do you think empowers the old flesh nature that is supposed to be dead and buried with Christ?.  It's not necessary to bind every demon everywhere, all that's necessary is for the believer to be walking after the spirit.

Vs.4 covers "forgiving/unforgiveness, temptation and deliverance from the evil one"

Ruben:

.I will withhold my comment for another time, thank you.

PREACH THE WORD; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, REBUKE, exhort, with all longsuffering and doctrine (2Tim.4:2)
