Moses 3:16-17 And I, the Lord God, commanded the man, saying: Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat, But of the tree of the aknowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it, nevertheless, thou mayest choose for thyself, for it is given unto thee; but, remember that I forbid it, for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.God would say choose for yourself? Choose sin1 or sin2?
DAVEH: I guess I missed something. Did God use the term sin in the second chapter of Genesis?
"Thou shall NOT...thou mayest choose"? Is this God talking out of both sides of his mouth? This is logical? God says sin is bad then he decides that Adam must sin?
DAVEH: Let's see......"thou mayest choose for thyself". Then God told him what would happen "day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die" and then left it to Adam to make the choice.
Would you tell your child "DO NOT play in the street, nevertheless, thou mayest choose for thyself"?
DAVEH: That is exactly the point I was trying to make to Judy, Kevin. Don't you suppose there was a very important reason God placed a major temptation before Adam and suggested it represented something good, but forbade him to partake.....with the consequence of doing so bringing death to himself. You are right.....any normal parent would never consider doing such. Yet God did. That would suggest this is far more important than what a lot of people may have previously considered. I'll ask you again, Kevin......have you really pondered the ramifications of it?
