We still seem to disagree so I am going to back up to address some more basic premises. I have found that when a disagreement exists among believers of Christ it is because there are some basic unspoken premises that are different. Sometimes it is helpful to change the subject to these more basic assumptions before the more highly charged difference of perspective can be addressed. Dean, please answer the following: 1. Do you believe that any good exists apart from God? In other words, can a man or woman say or do anything that can be called good without God working in them and through them? 2. Do you believe the following passage of Scripture? "Wherefore I give you to understand, ... that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost." (1 Corinthians 12:3 KJV) 3. Setting aside the concept of saving grace for the moment, do you believe that God has ever at any time manifested his grace through the Holy Spirit to any Mormon on the face of the earth? Peace be with you. David Miller, Beverly Hills, Florida. ---------- "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man."
