DAVEH: I don't see why it is necessary to ask Jeff to pursue this, Perry. From what DavidM said in his post today, it seems like may not be unusual or uncommon thinking amongst some Protestants. So let me ask you, Perry......do you find such thinking
(That person was CREATED to give Him glory by going to Hell) to be rediculous???
The idea is to get both sides of the story, DaveH. Do you have more than one child? When they have a spat do you only hear one side of the story, then punish the other without first hearing the other side? I am only suggesting that we offer this pastor the same kindness...he has no way to defend himself, and I am not sure Jeff did not either mis-interpret or spin what the preacher said.
I am going to abstain from using the word "ridiculous" since it has become emotionally charged of late, but I do not agree that God condemns people to Hell to bring glory to Himself. He has made Hell for sinners, yet he wishes that none should perish, and that all should come to Him through Christ.
