[TruthTalk] Hypocrisy -- the order of the day

Chris a servant of YHVH       ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Miller" Sent: 04/16/2004 8:58 AM Subject: [TruthTalk] Lying > A liar is someone who says something that is not true in a conscious > effort to deceive someone else.   A couple weeks ago an article on nutrition and cancer appeared on one of the biggest national news wires from one of their primary correspondents.   The article was about recent studies on nutrition and cancer with diet and/or supplementation.   The opening to the article noted that a particular nutrient appeared to protect against cancer BUT "popping supplements is probably not the best way to get the vital nutrient".  Yet every example in the body of the article noted that the best results were always amongst those taking supplements as opposed to those reliant upon diet alone.   You see, the sheeple read an opening statement and then shape the facts to that conclusion.   Judy cited a site on B�champ.  She noted about that noble scientist, "Not a good reputation, on this website at least".  However, the information about B�champ was actually very good -- ALL favorable.   I questioned Judy as to what was "Not a good reputation".  She offered nothing ... no apology for her aspersion, either.  I later addressed her sleight and she wanted an apology.   Is Judy's deception a lie?  Or is it her passing along that in which she is deceived?  In either case it reveals her heart if Scripture is true.  My addressing that is not ad hominem in its pure definition.   An ad hominem argument is one where the presenter is addressed rather than the message.  I address the message AND expose the presenter therewith.  That is NOT ad hominem.    I am the subject of ad hominem attacks fairly consistently on T-Talk.  I see no sign of that letting up.   When I first entered TruthTalk at the invitation of one and then another it was with delight at the possibility of open and honest dialogue.  That thought was shattered the first day as I was greeted with condescension, mocking and scorn by you, Izzy and Terry.  Only one gave me a friendly greeting -- the Mormon DaveH.  I found TruthTalk then -- and now -- as a TrashTalk forum.   T-Talk lacks honest debate and most often engages in faux intellectualism.  In truth it is filled primarily with those who are either liars, or, at best, deceived and deceiving.   Ahava b' YahShua (Love in The SAVIOUR) Baruch YHVH,   Bro.
