I won't argue with you about him being "genuine" - he has given his life to what he believes. It's the subject of his belief that is the problem.  His system makes the Word of God of no effect in the lives of people by their tradition and TFT borders on the same when he tries to separate Christ (who is the Word of God) from His Word.  Do you think God has changed so that we can now get away with what Israel was judged over?

Judyt:  As I see it, the Pope is a genuine believer.
"G" You are in a category all by yourself :-)
A liberal minded Calvinist who writes poetry and reads the NY Times; I'm sure there are other fascinating
"G" secrets as yet unrevealed.

Probably the right to life is one thing upon which Izzy and I do agree - are you pro-abortion yourself?
The Pope however, is from a whole other realm which does not compare to any individual that believes on TT
that I am aware of anyway and he is no more a biblicist than is Joseph Smith;  rather this Pope is a "traditionalist" who worships the "Black Madonna" patron saint of Poland and gives her all glory for saving him from the assasins bullet 23 years ago.  To a biblicist this is plain old heathenistic idolatry with which God is not pleased.

it's interesting that the activism of both Protestant and Catholic conservatives closely match on, e.g., abortion politics--jt and Izzy themselves are as anti-abortion as the Pope

apparently the Pope is a biblicist, too, and the match entails the conclusion that the Vatican produces 'fundamentalists'... G
