Jonathan, You seem oblivious of the fact that I am fast tiring of your insults. SO if you think you can stop insulting me I will promise to look at all of your recommended websites re: Bush and abortion and then discuss it with you. But if you lapse into emotional name-calling of me or Bush or America, then the deal is off. But I don’t have time tonight, and maybe not tomorrow, because I want to take time to treat it seriously. So keep your cool and we will proceed. Okay? Izzy

Izzy,

A week and a half ago David Miller emailed me asking me to take over the moderator position on this forum.  Surprised I sent back an email to him asking why me when it is obvious that most of my views are disregarded and considered heretical.  He wrote back that I took the discussions seriously and that Truthtalk is very much in need of a serious person taking the reins.  I agree with David.  While I declined the opportunity for a number of reasons I did tell him that I would attempt to move the subject matter to a serious discussion.  This morning I sent out a very serious post asking why people will vote for their respective candidate.  It included a number of the issues accompanied by biblical passages referring to them.  Instead of taking it seriously you wrote back a silly little email saying that we should rename the forum PoliticalTalk.  I am sick of your political faade and today I decided not to stand for it anymore.  You display such marvelous talents at so many things but when it comes to politics you refuse to think at all.  When questioned, critiqued or even looked at you hide behind a mask that pretends to be informed but really is ignorant.  When it comes to politics you won’t even consider them in light of the Bible.  It is astounding.

When you still refused to think (or even go to google and type in constitutional party!) I took one of the issues you kept putting forward in favour of Bush: abortion.  I have given you lots of evidence that Bush does not view abortion the same way you do.  While he may disagree with it to bring in a few voters, in reality he has supported it with the legislation he put through.  I ask the question again:  What does it matter if Bush is against abortion but works for it in the White House and has publicly stated he will not even attempt to make it illegal?  If abortion was the only issue one could vote for Kerry or Bush.  Both will do exactly the same thing: support if financially (as Bush has already done to the tune of half a billion dollars!) and not take steps towards outlawing it.  Now that you are aware of this what will you do?  We can move onto other issues if you like.  What will it take to get you to think through why you are voting for Bush (or Kerry or whoever it may be)?  The decision of who the next president of the USA is perhaps the most important decision to be made this decade.  Keep in the back of your mind: when you put an X next to Bush’s (or Kerry’s) name in 6 weeks you doom many more babies to die.  When it comes to politics ignorance is not bliss.

Izzy,

Stop running.

Now that you know what Bush actually thinks about abortion do you still support him?  If so why.  If not why?  Do you agree with what Bush has done in the White House for abortion?  Do you think he should be supporting organizations that approve of abortion?

Are you on this forum to discuss or just belittle those that disagree with you as ‘liberals’?  Once again either put up or shut up.

Jonathan

Jonathan, We will not discuss anything until you calm down.  Right now you are not appearing to be open to any reasoning at all. Izzy

More stuff on Bush and abortion.  Izzy, do you still feel the same way about Bush after reading this?  Does abortion really matter to you?

And while we are on the subject of abortion, President G.W. Bush signed legislation in 2002 that increased funding for International Family Planning to the tune of $480.5 million making this Republican-led administration the biggest supporter of international baby butchery in U.S. history. That is not to mention the millions of dollars that Bush has approved for America's largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood.

Recently, many "pro-lifers" heaped voluminous praise upon Mr. Bush when he decided to withhold a miniscule (by comparison) $34 million in federal funds from UNFPA (a UN abortion agency in China). What these ignorant (or deluded) "pro-lifers" failed to notice was that Bush redirected that $34 million to USAID Child Survival Health Program Fund. This fund includes money for "forecasting, purchasing, and supplying contraceptive commodities and other materials necessary for reproductive health programs."

In other words, all President Bush did was play the old shell game by taking $34 million from one pro-abortion agency and giving it to another pro-abortion agency. As American Life League President Judy Brown said, "These 'contraceptive commodities' are nothing but abortion-inducing chemicals that kill the very children that the fund claims to help."

Interesting. Why don’t you post their website? While I’m VERY sure that we MUST have a Republican House, Senate, and President to help us overthrow the liberals who are re-writing the Constitution, I wonder who I would vote for if we did not have a godly Presidential candidate like we have now. For instance, as much as I admire Rudi Guiliani, I could not vote for him as he supports abortion and gay marriage.  So I’d like to see what’s out there brewing on the horizon as far as alternatives in the future, if needed.  Izzy

Well, I've just been reading the CP site and I like what they say. Not that I believe any politician, mind you. :) BUT...there's information on what they think of marriage, family, gambling, life, gun control, etc. and I tend to agree with them on most issues. I've checked out how many CP registered voters there are and it seems the numbers are growing. People are getting tired of the things that are going on and are beginning to take a stand. I'm especially tired of there not being any rights in our court rooms and of Constitutional rights being violated on a daily basis. That's why I checked into the CP; it's something that concerns me.

But, I'm certainly no expert on politics, or on voting. I read up on the Libertarian Party as well, and I just simply can't support many of their platforms.

Good for you Kay.  As Izzy illustrates below, putting some thought into who to vote for is usually considered a rather ungodly and anti-american thing to do on this forum.  For the record I would seriously consider voting for Smithson.

No, actually, I'm just wondering what others' thoughts were. I'm not in to politics. I understand the concept of throwing away a vote by not voting either Democrat or Republican, however, if enough people vote a different party, then it wouldn't be throwing it away. Seems to me from what I've read that the Constitutional Party has many of the same beliefs I have, as well as many other Believers. My mind is not definitely made up, but I am seriously considering voting for that party.

Why not just stay home, rather than go to the polls to throw away your vote? Or were you thinking of writing in Smithson? Izzy

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever thought of not voting the "normal" Republican or Democrat way...and voting for another party completely. Any thoughts?
