Hi Izzy,

Being month-end at my place of employment and with critical financial issues flying left and right I have not been able to give you a worthy response.

In a nut-shell I do believe the words of Psalm 11.  However, and this is a big however, I do not think that Psalm 11 speaks completely to the situation.  In other words there is more to how God views sinners than just Psalm 11.  Other things like context and the fullness of God's revelation in Jesus Christ come into play.  If one already thought that God hates Arafat these verses play right into their hands.  If one thought that God loved Arafat but did not like some of what Arafat has done one comes to a different conclusion.  God's grace stands regardless of whether it is received.  Otherwise our refusal would be more powerful than God.  I am sorry but that is about as much as I can say due to time restrictions.  I understand why you think I was dodging the question but I honestly was not.

Jonathan Hughes

Jonathan, Grace must be received—not rejected—which is a matter of personal choice.  Arafat refused it.

You have still managed to dodge answering my question: do you believe the words in Psalm 11? Izzy

Jonathan, do you believe the following words? Izzy

Psalm 11:4  The LORD is in His (7) holy temple; the LORD'S (8) throne is in heaven;
          His (9) eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.
5
       The LORD (10) tests the righteous and (11) the wicked,
          And
the one who loves violence His soul hates.
6
       Upon the wicked He will (12) rain [1] snares;
          (13) Fire and brimstone and (14) burning wind will be the portion of (15) their cup.
7
       For the LORD is (16) righteous, (17) He loves righteousness;
          The upright will (18) behold His face.

It does take a rocket scientist to see that you are no better than Arafat and to realize that God loves each of you.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that Arafat is a murder/terrorist and is NO Believer.  Izzy

I don't think you did Laura. It's common in Christian circles to want to be nice during difficult times often at the expense of truth

It's like politics.  I understand the President must lead everyone and he leads a nation full of mixture ATST I do find it disturbing to see ecumenical prayer groups that include the Mullahs.  These are the ones Arafat will have ministering to him at his deathbed and how are they going to minister anything to him other than what they are walking in themselves?  Besides I hear he is unconscious.  Judyt

Laura-  I was swamped with emails last night and had to skim messages but I got the impression that some thought we could just pray that God would have mercy on him in spite of what he stood for.  I may have taken it wrong.
