Exactly John, Just because one is in a position of power does not mean that person is approved by God.
Besides, in a democracy, for God to have a part in it would mean God would have to place a vote. From what I am hearing He wasn't on the list and was rejected. He filled out a provisional ballot but we don't expect it to be counted.
