done with power?

Oh yes. That is why I said that if it were not for the wickedness of men, we could enjoy a great theocracy. Only with Jesus as King can a theocracy succeed.

An excellent example that supports my viewpoint. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Did I read you aright when you spoke of
preaching at a 'Santa Claus' parade?

No, it was a CHRISTmas parade, not a Santa Claus parade. In fact, in some of my preaching, I would say something like, "Mer---ry Christ---mas! Mer---ry Christ---mas! Don't just think about Santa Claus this year when you think about Christmas. Je---sus --- is --- the --- Rea---son --- for --- the --- Sea---son --- of --- Christ---mas. And please don't think about Jesus as a baby in manger, but think about what Jesus did for you. Jesus, the Lord of Glory, was born with a purpose, to die public on a cross. If you believe upon Jesus Christ, you will receive the remission of your sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus had a goal and purpose when he was born, to die for your iniquities upon the cross, and to rise again from the dead. Think about the cross of Christ this Christmas. Think about the entire life and ministry of Jesus Christ this Christmas. He was not just a sweet baby lying in a manger because there was no room at the Inn." Then I would quote from Isaiah 53 and with many other words declare the remission of sins that is found through faith in Jesus Christ. Sometimes I would point to children or adults in the crowd and speak to them by the Spirit as I passed by. At one point a young child was chasing a dog through the middle of the parade. Many people started laughing because the boy just could not catch this dog. I laughed too and pointed him out to the crowd and said, "Ha-ha! Look at how this little boy is chasing that dog around. Some of you are running from God like that. It is time for you to stop running from God. That boy does not mean to harm that dog, and God does not mean to harm you. Believe upon Jesus Christ today. Surrender your entire life to him. Let God have his way with you. Submit unto God in everything. He will lead you in the paths of righteousness."

Like I said, David, you live in a secular nation and should
behave in a manner appropriate to the parade's purpose.

Government should be secular, but society should not be. Do you agree? A secular government enhances the freedom of religious expression, but a secular society causes the rejection of religious expression. Society itself needs to be spiritual, not secular.

What I did at the two parades that I preached at these last two weeks was entirely appropriate to the parades' purpose. The purpose of the parade was to celebrate Christmas. As a member of society, I celebrate Christmas as a time of thinking about the greatest Gift ever given to mankind, Jesus Christ the Righteous. I expressed my views about Christmas in a celebrating way. Thank God for a secular government that does not interfere with my right of religious expression. I even reminded the thousands I preached to how wonderful it was that our community has not prohibited Christian symbols and the acknowledgement of God in our Christmas parade the way that some other communities have. I thanked God before them all for the freedom to carry religious symbols in our Christmas parade. Being full of the Holy Ghost, one time I preached under inspiration of the Spirit, "some of you have asked God for a sign from heaven. Well, now you have one. Here are 52 crosses, carried by the messengers of God. This is your sign from heaven. Repent of your sins and believe upon Jesus Christ today."

Peace be with you.
David Miller.
