It's just that they have this way of detaching 'truths' (whatever they are) from the One Who Is The Truth.
I don't see myself as detaching truths from Jesus. When I say that I believe in axioms of truth, I mean that they can be understood without considering the rest of the complexity to which they are attached. From my perspective, Jesus Christ envelopes everything in this universe, both animate and inanimate, and to say that truth exists apart from him would be false. Nevertheless, this does not mean that reductionist approaches with truth cannot be done to divide it more finely in order to understand it better. If I study a tree within a forest and perhaps focus upon the bark of the tree and how it functions, that does not mean that I think the tree is not part of a forest. I simply do not think that I must always be keeping the forest in view in order to understand the bark of a particular tree.
