This is an acceptable translation but, not the best. Kudos to Jeff for attempting to get past 'Christianese'. David, Linda, Judy and occasionally (I said Occasionally, Terry) are in bondage to an early to mid twentieth century vocabulary.

Opinions aside, brother John, could you clarify the above for me?  I know that you cannot be saying that you have always been saved, but that is what I got at first reading.
