Is it possible that there is no such things as a "poor self image?"

No -- and I am just asking. There is a counseling philosophy, William Glasser, who generally views "mental illness" as nothing more than the tactic the mind takes to protect itself from perceived danger (extreme stress, that sort of thing). Couple that with some forms of "confrontational counseling," that argues that all have good self images. It causes them to react differently. This is only true if "love of self" (implied in the command) and "self image" are equated to each other. We all love ourselves. When it goes badly, it is because we love our selves too much.........never 'not enough.' Easy to see with those we deem "prideful." But what about those who see themselves as lacking. A very unbecoming woman, extra large, hasn't done her hair in months, hasn't cleaned her house in maybe years -- on the verge of suicide. Poor self esteem? Or is she acting out her form of rebellion for not having what she wants, what others have? Poor self esteem or just plain old selfishness?
