Paul and his coat-holding (so to speak) is a problem I haven't been able to reconcile. His reaction to The Way (as you stated) is more in tune with House Shammai. For someone who sat at the feet of Rabban Gamaliel [of House Hillel -- Gamaliel's grandfather], you'd think he would have learned his brand of tolerance. However, he may have learned it, but never allowed it to become part of him... much like the student who goes to Seminary and decides not to absorb the prevalent amillennialism.

To your way of thinking, Slade, do you think that Paul, prior to his conversion, was influenced by Shammai in spite of being a studet of Gamaliel.   I mean, Gamaliel was in favor of allowing God to deal with the "problem" of this emerging Faith while the House of Shammai would not honor that reason?
