Only problem is that error begets error and a single believer with a twisted interpretation is not nearly so dangerous as a whole community led by distortion which is what happened to Israel and the early Church over and over - From whence comes the idea that someone with a different view is an opponent? I've been wondering how this "community" concept fits with "abiding in the vine"  He is the vine, we are the branches. A non fruit bearing branch is cut off with or without or in spite of community. The Church is an organism rather than an organization - unless we intend to repeat the error of Constantine. Iron sharpens iron, and it takes a community to provide that iron. Truth is important as well, but Truth cannot/shouldn't be used as a blunt instrument to subdue your "opponent" as we see here on TT every day there are more than 10 emails posted.   There are some doctrines we should never allow compromise on, but there are far MORE doctrines that require us to give grace and say, "Interesting perspective... not mine, but interesting nonetheless." Original Sin, Trinity, Eschatology, Dispensationalism, the spelling of Heretic[k], etc.  -- slade   When you act like �community� is the end all and be all, it comes across as your religion.  ........    Izzy We wouldn't want that.  Please stop sharing faith and view points On TT  immediately .  It just might smack of "community."   Ditto church attendance, fellowship of the Spirit, fellowship with one another,  the  inwardness of a multimanifested God (how'd I do with that, Slade?), and on  and on.   To even hint that those on this forum who see the point have made "community" their God is false witness and   ---   well, I will leave it at that.  It is my humble opin that this thread is a waste of time.   There can be absolutely no good reason for getting all bunched up over notions of community as presented on this forum by those who share an enthrusiastic faith in Christ.    JD   John, please understand that I am a big proponent of fellowship in Christ.  This is something that happens (super)naturally when we gather around Jesus in worship and teaching.  I just think we should not place the cart before the horse by making �community� our primary objective.  My primary objective is to know Jesus and His word.  I have immediate community with others who feel the same.  Do you find that to be an unbalanced theology?
