I, for one, am mytified by this 'finding divinity' concept. Jonathan came by a short while ago with a CD entitled 'Ivan Rebroff - simply the best'. We listened. We chatted. We were interrupted. No 'finding divinity' took place. I, however, was enriched by his presence and, his thoughtfulness.

I don't see 'camps' on this issue. We are persons who both enrich the lives of others and, are vice versa.

Addendum:'Christ in me....' just might provide a supplementary, though not necessarily contradictory, line of thought.

I think, briefly, that what we are having here is a dichotomy between those who believe that we can find divinity in the Community of Man, and those who believe that divinity can only be found in Christ, and then fellowship with others in Christ is the byproduct of that.  I, obviously, fall into the latter camp.  w/o taking time for a prolonged explanation I will simply refer you to couple of scriptures, below.  I dont think anyone is going to have any success in persuading the other camp to join in theirs. 2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?

John 15: 4"(D)Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.
5"I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he (E)bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
6"If anyone does not abide in Me, he is (F)thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.

The dichotomy is great, isn't it?

jt: What dichotomy do you refer to here Slade?

Let US "Father, Word, Holy Spirit (Triune God)

Where does the "community" concept come into play?
