Not picking on you, Judy. Just wanting to express some of my personal "concerns".
Every person I've met who refuses to submit themselves to authority/teaching/leadership (and I don't mean government authority that goes against God) has gone off on weird beliefs and teaches them to others. I STILL am very leery about going to any fellowship due to what I call "cult-shock". One of my current clients is one of these types of people and I must say...he's a nutjob. He totally takes things out of context, especially relating to the role of men and women being submissive. He claims God Himself teaches him and no other. He's combative, argumentative, paranoid, and I would say borderline abusive. In essence, he's totally self-righteous and everyone but themselves are damned to hellfire and brimstone. I've seen this with several who call themselves street preachers. (No offense to ANY on here who may be street preachers...this is just MY experience with them.) In fact, the one I wrote about the other day was/is also a street preacher. They claim...the Lord told ME, the Spirit revealed to ME, blah, blah...and the discussion is CLOSED because it's the end-all 'cuz the Lord says so. Period. Even when whatever it is the Lord told them is in direct contradiction with what Scripture says. It's like they have blinders on, or something. It can be very exhausting having to work with them.

Jesus said we have ONE teacher (Him) and the

rest of us are brethren.  I see no point in exchanging one set of shackles for another.
