I am taking a break. After reading the majority of this days email, I am left with absolutely nothing of import to share with my wife ------ that is how I measure the quality of this forum, by what I can share with my family that they will actually listen to.
At years end, this is what has effected me from this forum:
I met and made new friends a big big deal to me.
I have had my eyes open to the biblical ideas and implications of community as the image of God, what it really means to believe in a Christ who has reconciled mankind to God because of His earthly ministries (the incarnate God reconciling mankind unto Himself) , the difference between conceptual truth and The Truth, The Abrahamic Covenant, Gen 15, a host of great books from Slade, Bill and Lance, the value of studied opinions, the strength (at times) of my own theology and the reasoning that supports such.
There is the excitement of Bill Taylor, the evolving intellectualism of Jonathan, an intellectualism that is Christ centered, the moderating spirit of Terry, the patience of Lance and his profound brand of thoughtfulness (ditto for Bill), the sadness of Jeff Powers,
Gman --- I have enjoyed our meeting as much as anything mention above.
My opponents on this list have forced me to consider and reconsider. Faith upon faith to you (all.
It is time for me -- for us - to celebrate the Christ with renewed emphasis. Don't bother arguing the point, It is what I am going to do.
If I were to tell you all the things God has done for me, this year, you all would be jealous.
