Is it "bad Christians" or are these people the fruit of "bad doctrine" from the pulpits they sit under? (such as once saved, always saved which leaves them in ignorance with no spiritual discernment and no Spiritual walk).  Biting and devouring each other is the fruit of the fallen flesh nature we are born into (including the kind non-believers) which is why we so desperately need a Savior/Redeemer.  Let's not forget that man looks at the outward appearance while the Lord weighs the (motivations or) heart and treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves rather than exposing their flesh or trading evil for evil.
