My turn now John .. Don't want to burst your bubble but it isn't up to God who gets in and who doesn't .. because God has given all judgment in heaven and on earth over to Jesus, so he is the one who has the say so and we are given a preview
in the gospels. Remember those who say "Lord, Lord, and he says I never did know you, depart from me, you who practice lawlessness" Sin is lawlessness. Adding to or taking away from the Word of God is so serious that I would think it is included. judytjd: Judy, you really do not have a clue as to "the practice of lawlessness." Your use of the phrase "This is sin" forces this conclusion.jt: Just agreeing with God's Word John ie: "Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness and sin is lawlessness" (1 John 3:4).jd: You have no place in your theology , that I can see, for the continual flow of the blood of the Lamb.jt: I can't find this "continual flow" idea in scripture, where does this come from? I do believe the blood cleanses the conscience from dead works so that we may serve the living God when we come to the sacrifice in time of need. I don't have any reason to believe that it works by osmosis as this continual flow idea seems to imply. You can't deal with the implications of continuing sin as recorded in the biblical mesage.jt: Of course I deal with the implications of continuing sin John. I do this by choosing to walk after the Spirit daily. And you actually think that rebellion/lawlessness is demonstrated by those who do the best they can but fail because of ignorance or addiction or spiritual immaturity.jt: I don't judge people's motives John but any Christian holding on to a doctrine that makes them at ease/comfortable with sin is in trouble.God does give us a measure of time to grow. What does He say about sinners in Zion? Are you saved -- I for one, do not doubt it, but your salvation is because of the continuing forgiveness of the Christ. Believe me when I say that you are not good enough to go to the great Beyond without help. Johnjt: I don't believe going to the great beyond without any help is part of my hermeneutic John :)
