DAVEH:  Sorry to be so tardy with this, Izzy & Kay.  I've had too many irons in the fire lately.  So many questions to answer, and only so many hours to sleep.  Tonight I'm dragging my tail.....   (No jokes related to the devil, please!) LOL!!!

Anyway......Some folks consider Mormons to be those who belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.   A broader definition would be...Mormons are those who belong to one of the denominations that accept the Book of Mormon as Scripture.   Of the two, the former is more prevalent.

Dave, How many denominations are there that accept the book of Mormon?

DAVEH:    I don't know.  If you count the polygamous families who profess their roots in Mormonism, there may be quite a few.  I don't think they would be congregations of many people, but rather just individual families pretty much making their own rules to meet their family needs.  As for actual groups consisting of more than a few hundred or so, I would think there would be less than a handful.  The Community of Christ (RLDS) is the largest, with approximately a quarter million members as I remember.

I’d say your definition of a mormon is definitely NOT the same definition of who is a true Christian.

DAVEH:  I'm not sure why would you expect it to be so.

The church pews are full of folks who “belong” to “Christian” denominations who are hell-bent. Belonging to anything, except Christ Himself, never saved anyone.  Izzy
