DaveH, how many prophets have there been, Joseph Smith to today, and how many of them, other than Joseph Smith, have received revelation directly from the LDS god? Those would be found in the D&C, right?

Do you disagree with the fact that for a Mormon the Living Prophet is the ultimate Authority on this earth?

DAVEH: I can't think of anybody else who would be better to follow than one who communes with God, do you Kevin?

How do you determine just WHEN to FOLLOW the PROPHET?

DAVEH: If God instructs a prophet to tell his people to do something, I would think that would be the time to follow him. If God doesn't specifically instruct his prophet on particular details, but that prophet choses to lead the people in a direction he perceives the Lord would want him to go....I would think it would also be advisable to follow the prophet. In times of strife and confusion, having a prophet to rally around seems to me like a good idea, if for nothing else other than to maintain unity in the Lord's followers, give direction/direction, consoling and a reminder that the Lord does not leave his fold unattended.
