Ephesians 5
1(A)Therefore
be imitators of God, as beloved children;
2and (B)walk
in love, just as Christ also (C)loved
[a]you
and (D)gave
Himself up for us, an (E)offering
and a sacrifice to God as a (F)fragrant
aroma.
3But (G)immorality or any impurity or greed
must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints;
4and there must be no (H)filthiness and silly talk, or coarse
jesting, which (I)are not fitting, but rather (J)giving of thanks.
5For this you know with
certainty, that (K)no immoral or impure person or
covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom (L)of Christ and God.
6(M)Let no one deceive you with empty
words, for because of these things (N)the wrath of God comes upon (O)the sons of disobedience.
7Therefore do not be (P)partakers with them;
8for (Q)you were formerly (R)darkness, but now you are Light in
the Lord; walk as (S)children of Light
9(for (T)the fruit of the Light consists in
all (U)goodness and righteousness and
truth),
10(V)trying to learn what is pleasing to
the Lord.
11(W)Do not participate in the unfruitful (X)deeds of (Y)darkness, but instead even (Z)expose them;
12for it is disgraceful even to
speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
13But all things become visible (AA)when they are exposed by the light,
for everything that becomes visible is light.
14For this reason it says,
"(AB)Awake, sleeper,
And arise from (AC)the dead,
And Christ (AD)will shine on you."
15Therefore be careful how you (AE)walk, not (AF)as unwise men but as wise,
16(AG)making the most of your time,
because (AH)the days are evil.
17So then do not be foolish, but (AI)understand what the will of the
Lord is.
18And (AJ)do not get drunk with wine, for
that is (AK)dissipation, but be (AL)filled with the Spirit,
19(AM)speaking to one another in (AN)psalms and (AO)hymns and spiritual (AP)songs, (AQ)singing and making melody with your
heart to the Lord;
20(AR)always giving thanks for all things
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to (AS)God, even the Father;
21(AT)and be subject to one another in
the (AU)fear of Christ. (Even to your
Moderators on TT. J )

I also have to comment on Davids
mention of LAW.
Considering that most here reject
God's Law, you are all a bunch of Lawless individuals, so why do we now need the
"Laws of David"? It's obvious that no one here is obedient to God (I
include myself) as He expects it, so what makes anyone think that they are
going to obey "the David's Law"? I said in my last post that I
recon several will be exempt from the "LAW". The David say's,
"The law is for the lawless..." yet time will tell. I'm sure we will
see a few pets continue to get away with whatever they want.
On another note, the
language issue is ridiculous! Consider the historical examples, writers
from the beginning of written languages have always been careful and creative
to use euphemisims, and have been careful to not upset the masses with
questionable language. The uptight "Moral Majority" (didn't that come
from our friend, Jerry Falwell?) is laughable in light of the evidence!
Consider this, if Yeshua appeared today as the Bible tells of his earthly walk
and ministry, what would his Talmidim be like?
Lets see now, some
commercial fishermen, I'm telling ya, these saints certainly don't talk
like most of you would call acceptable language. How about the crooked IRS
agent? Or maybe the renegade, rebellious biker with the right cause but the
wrong methods? (OK so thats a little far out there, but Judas Iscariot strikes
me as a biker)
What do they all have in
common? A down to earth manner of speech that at times is coarse.
In fact, do you REALLY think Yeshua only said,"You Vipers..." as it
has come down to us? I don't because he was making a very strong
point and "viper" just doesn't cut it when talking to the types he
was talking to. To think otherwise is to have ones head in the sand.

Let me speak from experience Jeff. At one time I was a fisherman.
At one time my speech was coarse. At that time I was not a
disciple. When I became a disciple my speech changed. That speech
was the world's speech. I am a new creature now, no longer do I use the
methods of the world to communicate feelings or thoughts. I would think
the first disciples did the same.
Just a thought, for what it's worth.
