There will certainly be some big surprises in heaven (and hell) when the last are first and the lowly are over the high and mighty.  Izzy

I Cor 1: 26Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things - and the things that are not - to nullify the things that are, 29so that no one may boast before him. 30It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God–that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”

I find your response offensive Lance but am not surprised - some ppl excel in the art of the

putdown but this is not a Christlike trait.  I am disappointed as I expected more from DavidM

[Looks like I have been wrong about some things, possibly others as well].  As for glorying

in education, mine is as good as that of any disciple but why should it matter?  We are not

here to fellowship around education - or are we?

We'd do better to emulate Paul who counted it all loss for the sake of Christ  "I count all things

but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord for whom I have suffered the

loss of all things and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ and be found in him .... that I

may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being

made conformable to his death"

Note: This is the power that overcomes sin in the life of the believer. You can search for him in

theological books if you like. I will seek to fellowship with Him in His Own Word. I want to know

what HE says, not what someone says about Him.

Jesus said "Blessed art thou Simon Barjona for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto

thee, but my Father which is in heaven" [Matt 16:17]

Paul said "I certify you, brethren that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man, for

I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of jesus Christ" [Gal 1:10]

JESUS CHRIST, THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER.....
