DAVEH: Perry asked advice (as to how to preach to Mormons), Kevin.
I'm not sure why I bothered to reply, as I don't think you or Perry
really want to know how we (LDS) think. I believe the reason many LDS
folks recoil from some of the street preaching antics is that it is so
foreign to the way we evangelize. If you want to continue using your Truth
horns (and waving underwear) to evangelize LDS folks, don't be
surprised if you find many ignoring your message. I don't think LDS folks are opposed to listening to other Christians express their contrasting opinions. I recently posted mention of a couple non-LDS who have actually spoken from our Tabernacle pulpit. Had they brought their Truth horns into the Tabernacle though, they would have simply driven the LDS audience from the building. And....it would have been another hundred years before another non-LDS Christian were invited back to speak from the same podium. Like I said before, Kevin. I'm not overly bothered that some street preachers use tactics we perceive as being less than humble when trying to evangelize us, but I am concerned about how the message of their antics is perceived by the non-Christian world.
