I think you hold to the Autographa position I hope this clears things up for you. Hopefully I can write something up on the Archaic words and How God operates as far as translations go, there are examples in the scriptures themselves that may be of interest to you.

To those that hold to the Autographa, the "OLD book" iversus the "OLDE book"  would be an error in transmission. I understand fully all the implications whether it is OLDE or OLD. Makes no difference to me if it is 1611, 1638,  1762 or 1769 You say you favor, I do not favor the 1611 I believe it is the Word of God As far as the greek ms, If someone was to make a new translation into some heretofore unknown language of course we would use the Recieved text & translate from it. They would also also consult other translations as the KJV translators did, (LDS believe translations are translations of translations on & on). God has made everything I need to know available in the KJV translation in my personal language. Just like Timothy knew the scriptures so to may Without the greek in my case The KJV is not the word of God for say Spanish speaking folks. But All of god's instructions for me are available that I might do them. God could not hold me responsible for the portions He failed to get to me. I have the promise of the Holy Spirit leading into ALL Truth not some or most.

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

From 1611 until NOW, the King James Bible has undergone a grand total of 421 word changes, amounting to only five one-hundredths of a percent of the text! But that's not all. It gets better.

Out of the 421 total changes amounting to only five one-hundredths of a percent, the following should be noted -

TOWARDS has been changed to TOWARD 14 times.

BURNT has been changed to BURNED 31 times.

AMONGST has been changed to AMONG 36 times.

LIFT has been changed to LIFTED 51 times.

YOU has been changed to YE 82 times.

The remaining 150 changes from 1611 to today are composed of printing errors, spelling standardization, and a few minor phrase changes. For example...

In Genesis 22:7 AND WOOD was changed to AND THE WOOD.

In Leviticus 11:3 CHEWETH CUD was changed to CHEWETH THE CUD.

In Romans 6:12 REIGN THEREFORE was changed to THEREFORE REIGN.

There is no comparison, Compared to this:

    Correction p. 1257

    Correction p. 1207

    Correction p. 1325

Kevin, we had a major disconnect in our communication. I consulted some
dictionaries to understand the word heresy used in the KJV and you claimed
that I had changed the PURE words of God after I shared what the
dictionaries said about this word. So I asked you the following:

You responded:

That AV1611 sounds rather strange to me, so I raised many questions. Now,
based upon your answers, it sounds to me like you are not holding the AV1611
in your hands. Were you speaking metaphorically or something? I took you
quite literally.

We are probably pretty close to the same page on this one. I too favor the
Majority Text tradition, but there are still issues to discuss. You seem to
think that any Greek consultation is futile, yet that is exactly what the
Majority Text tradition does.

How about first telling me whether you read the AV1611 or the AV1769
version. Then I may pick up some other issues when I have time.

Peace be with you.
David Miller.
