What shal we do with the Archaic Words in the KJV?
Since the modern usage has changed should we change the translation?

Let us turn to our Authority in all matters; the Word of God.
Does the Bible tell us how to deal with Archaic words?
We find in I Samuel 9:1-11an example of Gods dealing with these words.
We are going to run into the Archaic word SEER in Verse 11. So before we do God puts a paren in verse 9 to alert us
Verse 9 (Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)
So the common usage of SEER had come & gone and at the time of this scripture the common usage was Prophet.SEER was now Archaic & had passed from common usage!

God thru the Holy Spirit explained the upcoming Archaic word but did not change the text! God placed the Archaic word right there in verse 11!
11 And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said unto them, Is the seer here?"
The verse retains the Archaic word SEER! God did not change the Holy Text!

Therefore the answer is NO. God did not change His Holy Word and He certainly does not need or want our help in doing what He did not do.

No, I had thought that you did by saying that you were holding the PURE word
of God in your hands, the AV1611. That misunderstanding has been cleared up
now.

The point I was trying to make with you is the same point you are now making
to me. You are preaching to the choir here. The problem is that you can't
see that. I will have to take time to think about how to explain it to you.
This question about understanding "heresy" hinges on changing word use that
you seem to accept and also our better understanding of the Greek language
from more available and studied Greek manuscripts.

Please keep in mind that I consider those two older Egyptian manuscripts to
be corrupt. One of them was retrieved from a garbage can. We've discussed
this in the past on TruthTalk. I favor the KJV and the Majority Text
position, so you don't need to preach that to me. I also consider
consulting the Greek helpful for the students who want to dig in deeper, but
I agree with you that it is not necessary.

Peace be with you.
David Miller.
