You sound like Pontius Pilate. Jesus tells us we can know the truthâHe IS the Truth. If we know Him (really), we know all the Truth that matters. I agree that seeking doctrinal agreement is not the pathâit is one of the consequences of being on the path to life. (As I Cor 8:1-3 states) To assume that you and your cohorts are the only ones seeking ever-deeper relationship with Jesus (and truth) seems to lack humility. (Did I phrase that gently enough?) Izzy
If you read without so much assumption, you and I would be much closer together.
You say To assume that you and your cohorts are the only ones seeking ever-deeper relationship with Jesus (and truth) seems to lack humility. (Did I phrase that gently enough?) Gentle enough? If I were you, I would worry more about accuracy. There is nothing in my post about "the only ones>" Deegan has found the "truth." It is codified and petrified -- and in that circumstande he has confidence. Truth is really used in at least two differing ways: doctrine and the Christ. I am assured of the later. I continually share and study and compare for the other.
